Changing Attitudes

A SOCIETY SAFE FROM PREJUDICE & DISCRIMINATION

Using Anne Frank’s life and diary as a starting point, we empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination. In doing so, we partner with schools, local authorities, the criminal justice sector and others to deliver educational programmes alongside acclaimed exhibitions to young people in a variety of settings.

EFFECTIVELY CHALLENGING PREJUDICE

For young people taking part in the Anne Frank Trust’s schools & Ambassadors’ programme the result is positive, lasting attitudinal change. The programme educates young people about the roots and consequences of prejudice and discrimination, and increases their understanding of and respect for those of different faiths, cultures & identities.  As Ambassadors they are trained to become socially aware and active members of society, developing life skills that enable them to recognise and challenge all forms of prejudice and amplify Anne Frank’s message of social justice and equality for all.

THE ANN FRANK TRUST UK

The Anne Frank Trust UK is an education charity, that empowers young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination. We have been established since 1991. Our education programmes use Anne Frank’s powerful life story and diary as their starting point. We are the only organisation in the UK licensed to use Anne Frank’s name and writing to make links with issues in contemporary society.

To use Anne Frank’s life and inspirational diary as a starting point to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination.

A society safe from prejudice and discrimination.

We partner with schools, local authorities, the criminal justice sector and others to deliver educational programmes to young people in a variety of settings. We impart knowledge about the damage prejudice and hateful attitudes cause and empower each individual to take a stand against it, to embrace positive attitudes, personal responsibility and respect for others.

0%
of the young people surveyed following the Anne Frank Trust’s schools programme 2017-18 became more positive to at least one group of people different to themselves.
0%
of young people who became more positive towards Jewish people also became positive to at least one other social group.
0%
of young people whose attitudes improved after completing the Anne Frank Trust’s schools programme in 2016-17 still have these positive attitudes in 2019.

To tackle prejudice, we need your continued support.
